The human mind is the world’s most complex computer and care partners have to think positive approaches through so we can care “with” not “to” the person living with dementia
The mind is colorful, incorporating all the GEMS states, which are interchangeable and connected. Each GEMS state is precious and equally valued
It represents ‘substitution, not subtraction.’ We rely on this care concept to meet the needs of the person living with dementia so they can live a happy life full of value and meaning
